General description: The Kentia Palm is one of the most beautiful and popular indoor palm trees. It is also one of the most expensive indoor palm trees because of its elegant tropical look and slow growth rate. The plant is also called the Mercedes of the palm world. The Kentia Palm has been used for indoor decorating since the Victorian era. This plant will create a tropical atmosphere, make your house beautiful and give life to the interior.

This tropical indoor palm tree has single green ringed trunk and elegant, long, bended downwards gracefully, dark green leaves. The beautiful plant produces white flowers and small red-brown fruits.

Scientific name: Howea Forsteriana

Family: Arecaceae

Genus: Howea

Origin: Australia

Other names: Thatch Palm

Maintenance: Low

Light requirements: It will tolerate low light level better than the most of palms, but does best in bright indirect light. The more medium light it gets, the more leaves this plant will produce.

Humidity: Medium. To provide humidity, mist the foliage regularly.

Soil conditions: Well-drained soils (a mixture of the soil, loam, sand, leaf mold or peat moss).

Fertilization: Regularly apply fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer).

Pests and diseases: This plant is relatively care free. Spider Mite and soft bodied scale can occur in dry conditions.
