Indoor Palm Tree Care
Indoor Palm trees bring the feel of the tropics into your home and purify the air. They are slow growers and easy to care for.
Indoor palm trees prefers rich, well drained soils. They like a mixture of the soil with sand, loam, leaf mold or peat moss.
These beautiful tropical plants enjoy moist, not soggy soil. Overwatering and underwatering can cause many problems. Water them more in the growing season and less in the winter.
Most of them enjoy bright light. Generally, give them the brightest light possible insideĀ of your house. Artificial light is perfect for these plants.
For healthier growth, fertilize the palms with a balanced fertilizer monthly or every few months during the warm growing season.
To keep your plants lush and green mist the leaves daily in the spring and summer, and less in the winter. If you see dust on the leaves, wipe it down with a wet cloth.
The most common pests of indoor palm trees are Spider mites and mealy bugs. They can be controlled with natural neem oil and insecticidal soaps.
